FAITH & SERVICE

From its inception, Kodaikanal Christian College was founded with a distinct mission: to transform students by providing them a solid foundation that places equal importance on knowledge, faith and service. Like any reputable academic institution, KCC promotes the pursuit of knowledge and strives for excellence in education in all aspects. KCC stands apart, however, in its effort to offer guidance and counseling to each student on how the education they acquire can be used to serve God by serving mankind.

The heartbeat of the college for each student is that he or she will grow in knowledge and remain guided by principles modeled on Jesus Christ.

With this mission fixed in the forefront, the Office of Spiritual Life (OSL) serves an integral feature of KCC student life. The OSL aims to create a safe, Christian environment for students to nurture their relationship with God. Students have the option of active participation in activities such as daily worship (led by the student choir), small-group Bible studies (led by the Chaplain and student leaders), student retreats, and on-campus Sunday chapel services just to name a few.

Along with its heritage of faith, KCC offers students multiple avenues to exercise their faith and desire to serve by giving back to the local community. Through Saturday Co-Curricular & Extra-Curricular Activities (SCEA) and a dedicated National Service Scheme (NSS) Office, students go through life-changing experiences like volunteering at the CSI Polio Home, the Home of Love Orphanage, and various non-profit organizations.

KCC’s commitment to this mission is visible in every aspect of the KCC experience–from residential life, day-to-day activities, classroom dynamics, and academics.
